The University is committed to maximising the positive impact of its teaching and research on the local, national and global communities it serves. Gifts from alumni and others with an interest in the University's work continue to accelerate the provision of these benefits to society. As an Exempt Charitable Organisation (number XR82062), all gifts to the University qualify for tax relief through Gift Aid in the UK. Donors in the USA can make tax-deductible gifts to NAFUM, the North American Foundation for The University of Manchester. Choosing where your gift will go
By making an unrestricted gift you help foster a rich and varied campus environment for outstanding learning and discovery, providing the financial flexibility to provide strategic support for outstanding students, teachers and researchers. An unrestricted gift is the direct route to the heart of the University, having impact where it is most needed at any given time. If you have a clear idea of the area of the University you wish to support, we will be happy to discuss this with you. Alternatively, you may want to review our current philanthropic priorities, through which you can support particular groups of students or researchers addressing major issues in society that matter to you. If you want your support for your preferred priority to have immediate impact on campus, you can do this by supporting Your Manchester Fund, or making a tailored gift to be used over a limited number of years. You can do this either by supporting one of our pooled endowments or setting up a tailored endowment with us.
